Hermitage Hotel

Rebrand

Hermitage Hotel

When the view is already doing most of the talking, the brand has to know when to speak quietly.

PKO worked on the visual identity for The Hermitage Hotel, an iconic Aoraki Mount Cook destination with a history stretching back to the late 1800s. The aim was to create a brand that felt refined and established, while still belonging to one of New Zealand’s most dramatic landscapes.

The identity was carried across the full guest experience, from the logo, colour palette and typography through to menus, brochures, guides, key fobs, door hangers, in-room collateral and other hotel touchpoints. Everything was designed to feel connected, giving the brand a consistent presence without competing with the reason people are there in the first place.

The result is a calm, premium identity that feels grounded in the heritage of the hotel, but contemporary enough to sit comfortably within a world-class travel experience.
